One owner reported the cooling fan starting by itself while the car sat unused, running for roughly twenty minutes at a time and doing so several times a day, including overnight. That owner read it as the car never fully going to sleep after being locked.
What owners checked
- Keys and the NFC card left inside the car. One owner confirmed neither was in the vehicle, and the loss continued.
- An auto ventilation setting that cools a warm cabin, which other owners suggested checking. Two owners went looking for it and could not find it. That does not establish whether the feature is absent.
- A fault the service centre could see. One owner took the car to an authorised service centre, which reported no error and said everything was normal.
- Hot weather and a car parked in the sun, raised by several owners. Neither owner was able to separate this from the rest, and one of them was losing charge overnight as well.
The shutdown routine the owners tried
- They switched the air-conditioning off with its own button before leaving the car. One owner also set the fan speed to 1 and kept the air-conditioning out of AUTO.
- They shut the vehicle down from the centre screen, rather than only locking the car and walking away.
- They compared battery readings while the car was parked and unused.
- They watched the readings over several nights; one reported monitoring for three days.
If it keeps happening on your car
- Read the battery percentage at the same time each day for a week and write the figures down.
- Note whether the cooling fan runs while the car is parked, and roughly how often.
- Take those figures to an authorised service centre rather than a description of the problem.
- Expect the possibility of being told nothing is wrong. That is what happened to one owner, which is why your own readings are worth having.
