The two Malaysian V23 variants differ by more than power and drivetrain. The 2WD carries a lithium iron phosphate battery, usually shortened to LFP. The iWD carries a nickel manganese cobalt battery, usually shortened to NMC. They are different chemistries with different habits, so a charging rule picked up in an owners’ group is only useful once you know which variant it was written for.

2WD — the LFP pack
- LFP is tolerant of a full charge, so charging to 100% before a long drive is normal use rather than something to avoid.
- A full charge that then sits for days is the part worth avoiding, particularly parked in the sun. Charge to full close to when you are leaving.
- Partial charging is fine. There is no need to run the battery down before plugging in.
- LFP holds a very flat voltage across the middle of its range, which makes the displayed percentage harder for the car to estimate. An occasional unhurried AC charge to 100% helps it recalibrate.
iWD — the NMC pack
- NMC is less comfortable being left at a high state of charge for long periods, so avoid leaving the car parked near 100% for days at a time.
- For daily driving, charging to somewhere in the middle of the range and topping up more often is easier on the pack than repeatedly filling it.
- Charge to 100% for a long journey. The advice is about how long the car sits full, not about whether you are allowed to fill it.
- With 81.76 kWh, most daily use will not need the full pack anyway.
